The ensuite shower room was beautifully kitted out and the additional touches provided by Lisa and Clive were just great."

Keith B adds: "Superb breakfasts and comfy beds. The whole of 21 is wonderfully clean and immaculately presented. I go to Brighton now to stay with them as much as to enjoy Brighton."

It helps that the location is utterly gorgeous - set in secluded woodlands with views of the mountains - but inside, the Old Manse is just as pretty.

You can scarcely believe this modern, stylish pad is a B&B - it wouldn't look out of place in a Mr and Mrs Smith book about boutique hotels. Davidsonm says: "This is how a B and B should be... I can wholeheartedly recommend this outstanding, sophisticated guest house."
